Snapshot Summary

Historically, a gap has existed and continues to exist in graduation rates for students with and without IEPs in Illinois. The plan was for 82% of students with IEPs to be graduating by 2012. This target was not reached; the actual number of students with IEPs graduating in 2012 was 68.9%.

  • What factors lead to other students completing high school and graduating from high school with a regular diploma?

  • How can the district decrease the gap in graduation rates between students with disabilities and students without disabilities?

  • How can we better support students with disabilities and decrease the dropout rate for students with disabilities?
