Percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities

Snapshot Summary

This indicator is based on the results of the Illinois Parent Involvement Survey administered by ISBE to a sample of LEAs every 6 years. Chicago Public Schools (CPS) are included every year. The target was to have 58% of parents reporting parent involvement as a means of improvement in 2012. This target was reached with 67% in 2012.

  • How did the district provide the surveys to their parents in previous year?

  • Are there other ways that may boost returns?

  • Which questions did the district score lowest or below the target?

  • What strategies could the district incorporate that would raise that percentage the next year?
